We provide 1,481 hot meals on average each month at the Fireweed Diner

WHAT WE OFFER

Our Food Bank is a non-governmental organization that distributes food through four different programs all under one roof. The KPFB distributes USDA Commodities, administers an emergency direct service food program, collects and redistributes food through the warehouse distribution program for member agencies, and serves a hot meal daily (Monday-Friday).
FOOD DISTRIBUTION

TEFAP-The Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP) is a Federal program that helps supplement the diets of low-income Americans, including elderly people, by providing them with emergency food assistance at no cost. TEFAP services are from 12:00PM-4:00PM weekdays.

FIREWEED DINER

Our Fireweed Diner serves hot meals every weekday from 11:30AM-2:30PM and is free to the public, though donations are welcomed.  We often have special meals for holidays and are looking to expand services soon. 

SENIOR BOXES

The Commodity Supplemental Food Program (CSFP) is a US Department of Agriculture (USDA) program designed to supplement the nutrition of seniors in need. Contents of the boxes follow state-approved meal plans consisting of grains, proteins, milk, cheese, fruits and vegetables. Seniors May receive CSFP once per month and eligability is Based on annual income.

Farmers Market

The Kenai Peninsula Food Bank is pleased to host a Farmers Market every Tuesday from 3 PM-6 PM starting June 11th in the parking lot at the Food Bank.
