hunger does not discriminate Every year, the Food Bank touches more than 20 percent of the Kenai Peninsula’s 53,000 residents, a diverse population that is spread over an area about the size of West Virginia. Most hunger results from poverty or financial constraints. While certain groups are at greater risk, hunger cuts across the income spectrum, all demographics, and the urban-rural continuum.
